Artist Statement and Biography

Artist Statement
“I am an oil painter grounded in art that exists in the social landscape; drawn to the visual symbols that are cues for our common experience. The major impetus for my work is an inquiry into my subject's past as witness, with it's narrative potential as an essential component in the work's development. As an artist, my aim is to interpret reality, editing and shaping until a piece develops a meaningful voice.” - Sally Grigas
Artist Biography
I was trained at the at the New York Academy of Art, Graduate School of Figurative Art, New York, NY earning a MFA and Montserrat College of Art, in Beverly, MA receiving a BFA. I maintain a working studio in downtown Nashua, NH and have taught at local New England colleges.
